Bowden Youngsters 2009/10 (Cria)

Above are some pictures of the cria born at Bowden and below showing our yearlings. Last year we decided to name them after Greek Mythological Gods and we were lucky to have our three fine boys Zeus, Apollo, Lucifer and Phoebe a girl who hopefully will be having her first cria next year. We have decided on Shakespeare for this year and have already had Angus, Lysander, Alice and Hermione.

Zeus who was the first to be born is of course in charge of all of the cria and likes to involve them in playing and racing round the paddock, he is now almost as big as his mother and has a very fine fleece. Lucifer has grown to be a sturdy and well built boy with a beautiful thick crimpy fleece we think at present he will make stud material as he has everything going for him. Phoebe our only girl this year is doing well and has a lovely bright lustre to her fleece. Apollo is still very much the youngster of the group but seems to be altering daily his fleece is beautifully soft and he has a very sweet nature and loves his food.

This years youngsters are all growing beautifully and developing their individual characters. The boys Angus and Lysander tend to go round together and the girls stick together. Our final pair were born the first week in September, Billie and Portia so we've had three boys and three girls which is a lovely result.

Angus was born on 28th May 2010
